I moved to Melbourne from the US and found the house renting process to be quite different in Melbourne. Thankfully, Winneth took charge of the entire process (e.g., scouting out potential places, attending the showings, filing the paperwork, arranging utilities) and helped alleviate a lot of the stress associated with an international move.

He takes care to solicit your housing criteria and continually seeks your input and feedback as he proposes various options. He is also very detail-oriented, and will provide you with the many photos and videos he takes during his visits to the places so you can get a better sense of each place (without being there in person).

Winneth is very personable, and if you have any questions (I had many!) he is always prompt and patient when responding. All in all, if you want to take the stress out of finding rental housing that you’ll be fully satisfied with, my advice is to leave it to Winneth the expert.”
Background
We had our initial meeting at Melbourne University because he around from the US to discuss the new role he is taking on. We usually do not get to meet our clients until the day they arrive and show up at their new home we found for them.
He wanted to find a Melbourne rental property and his criteria were 2 bedrooms, a place to park a car, easy distance to work, close to shops but away from too much foot and car traffic. Having a checklist is a very sterile approach and a good starting point.
After he went back to the US to finish up his role, we remained in constant chat and got to know Sean a lot better. As he was preparing his relocation to Melbourne, we inspected 6 apartments for him in two days. In fact, it was the second apartment that we saw that we felt addressed all his requirements and actually felt like home. All the other apartments did meet to the specifications he wanted and these are the only ones we inspect. Some were larger, in fact, but after getting to know Sean, we knew something was missing.
His application for the second apartment was accepted. In fact, it was the only one we submitted for him because all the others seem to fall short. We arranged the bond and first month’s rent and two weeks before he was meant to arrive, everything was already teed up. We collected his keys two days before his arrival and made sure that the power and gas were connected and he was able to move in and set up as soon as he arrived in Melbourne.
Unfortunately, the internet needed another week after his arrival to get connected but his modem was already there ready to be plugged in.
